The CEPEJ Working Group on Quality of Justice (CEPEJ-GT-QUAL) will hold its 34th meeting in Strasbourg on 27 and 28 February. The discussions will focus on the operationalization of the CEPEJ European Ethical Charter on the use of Artificial Intelligence in judicial systems and in particular the development of a tool that will ensure the compliance of these AI systems with the 5 principles of the Charter. The Group will also discuss the draft questionnaire on the evaluation of the quality of the work of judges and the HELP training module on the CEPEJ tools for the quality of justice. Access to justice for vulnerable persons and the modalities of participation of children in judicial hearings are also part of the themes on the agenda of this meeting. In this context, Regina Jensdottir, Head of the Division, will present the work of the Council of Europe in the field of justice for children. Finally, the group will begin to reflect on future areas of work that could be addressed during its 2024-2025 mandate.
