On Thursday 28 February 2019 court staff and judges from the civil division in all basic courts met to discuss the difficulties they face in resolving cases, in particular those which have been pending for several years. During the workshop, the importance to monitor pending cases by age was stressed. Furthermore, as a result of an initiative of the KoSEJ Action, judges and legal secretaries have started to collect data on the length of proceedings. The workshop was an opportunity for them to get further acquainted with this new practice, which they welcome. Good practices were also exchanged between relevant staff from the courts on how to ensure data quality control.
This activity was organised in the framework of the KoSEJ Action “Strengthening the Quality and Efficiency of Justice in Kosovo”, which is part of the programme entitled "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
