The CEPEJ Working Group on the Evaluation of Judicial Systems (CEPEJ-GT-EVAL) held its 49th meeting online on 14 and 15 May 2025. During this meeting, the Group continued its work on implementing the reform of the CEPEJ evaluation cycles of judicial systems, which aims to change the content and frequency of the report's publication by presenting more up-to-date data which will be collected annually rather than every two years. In particular, the Working Group prepared the new evaluation questionnaire, which will be launched in autumn 2025 and will focus on 2025 data. It will consist of a main module—shortened compared to the questionnaires of previous cycles—and a module concerning information and communication technologies.
The impact of the reform on the preparation timetable of the Evaluation Report to be published in 2026, its content, the development of new indicators, as well as the harmonisation of the various CEPEJ data collections (evaluation cycle and regional collections within the framework of the Scoreboard for EU countries, and the Dashboards Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries) were also discussed during the meeting.
