Back Court coaching project in Albania to reinforce court safety and security

Court coaching project in Albania to reinforce court safety and security
On 20-21 March 2018, two international experts of the CEPEJ launched a court coaching project to improve safety and security measures in courts in light of the CEPEJ Guidelines on the Organization and Accessibility of Court Premises. Experts visited courts in Tirana, Fieri and Berati and led a roundtable with representatives of 12 other courts in Albania and the Head of the Office of Administration of Judicial Budget. They collected information on the practical organisation of safety in courts in light of the existing national framework. Beneficiaries also had the opportunity to share their views on daily challenges and possible improvements. CEPEJ experts will prepare the first draft of a report which will include preliminary recommendations, which will be further discussed with relevant beneficiaries in May 2018 in Albania. This activity took place under the Action “Strengthening the efficiency and quality of the justice system in Albania - SEJ II”, which is part of the programme entitled "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
