After a career as a lawyer Manuella van der Put switched to judiciary in 2010.

Since several years she is senior judge at the court of s’-Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands) mainly in the field of civil rights.

The Dutch Council of judiciary stimulates and supports, in cooperation with the Dutch ministry of justice, research of the possibilities of digitalisation and artificial intelligence in the field of justice and judiciary.

In cooperation with the university of Tilburg, Manuella started a research project (PhD student since 2016) to explore the possibilities of artificial intelligence as a tool to improve efficiency and quality in Judiciary. She is running a pilot in cooperation with the university of Tilburg and the Dutch Council of judiciary, to develope an AI intelligent knowledge system for judges.
