The Committee of Experts on the Protection of Lawyers (CJ-AV) held its fourth meeting in Strasbourg on 1-3 March 2023 and continued its discussions on the future draft convention aiming at strengthening the protection of the profession of lawyer and the right to practice the profession without prejudice or restraint. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the member States and the international professional organisations. The CJ-AV advanced in the preparation of the draft text, and reached consensus on a number of substantive provisions. The committee continued discussions on the possible implementation mechanism.
The 5th meeting of the CJ-AV will take place on 3-5 July 2023.
