Roma Political School 2021 launched in Greece and Portugal

Today, 10 September 2021, the 2021 edition of the Roma Political School is being launched in Thessaloniki, Greece and Figueira da Foz, Portugal. Its objective is to foster the political and public participation of Roma women and men and to bring them closer to local, national and European decision-making bodies, whilst promoting their active participation and interaction with public administration as well as their presence in the public sphere. The programme comprises Political and public participation and Roma Population, gender equality and Roma women participation, identity and culture, public speaking and debating skills, simulation of a press conference with representatives of political parties, human rights training and digital skills training among other themes.

The school is financed by the Council of Europe and runs in partnership with Association of Roma Women of Dendropotamos in Greece and Ribaltambicao - Association for Gender Equality on Roma Communities in Portugal.
