We are pleased to announce the launch of the project “Supporting Development of Capacities and Participatory Approaches to Implementing Integrated Services in Disadvantaged Urban Communities, Including Roma in Romania”, which will be implemented by the Roma and Travellers Division of the Council of Europe, building on the expertise and experience of the joint EU-CoE ROMACT Programme.

An agreement has been signed providing a Swiss contribution to support this initiative under the broader Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme. This is the first project to be implemented within the framework of the Second Swiss Contribution, which aims to reduce social and economic inequalities within the European Union.

The official launch event took place on 30 June 2025 in Bucharest, organised by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity of Romania. The launch was followed by a thematic visit in Baia Mare (1 – 3 July), which brought together local authorities, Roma communities, and other stakeholders to engage affected communities and better address local needs, supporting inclusive approaches to service delivery in disadvantaged urban areas.
