International co-operation on law enforcement

International co-operation on law enforcement is one of the priorities identified by the GMT and was discussed during the negotiation of the Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, in particular with regard to mutual assistance, the collecting of evidence and the hearing of witnesses.

The CODEXTER is now looking at ways and means of enhancing the effectiveness of international co-operation between law-enforcement authorities by making use of existing structures (i.e. the networks established by Interpol and the Convention on Cybercrime) with the aim of promoting greater synergies and effectiveness.
