Back Hungary: visit of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities

A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities will be visiting Hungary from 7 to 11 December 2015 in the context of the monitoring of the implementation of this convention.

This is the fourth visit of the Advisory Committee to Hungary. The Delegation will have meetings with the representatives of all relevant ministries, public officials, NGOs, as well as national minority organisations.

The Delegation includes Mr Reinis ĀBOLTIŅŠ, Advisory Committee member elected in respect of Latvia, Ms Tove MALLOY, Advisory Committee member elected in respect of Denmark, Mr Francesco PALERMO, Advisory Committee member elected in respect of Italy and Mr Krzysztof ZYMAN, Administrator, Secretariat of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities.

Note: Hungary submitted its fourth State Report under the Framework Convention in March 2015. Following its visit, the Advisory Committee will adopt its own report (called Opinion), which will be sent to the government for comments. The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe will then adopt conclusions and recommendations in respect of Hungary.
