A workshop to discuss the international standards and the implementation of asset recovery legislation, including good practice examples from the United Kingdom was organized within the project on Asset Recovery in Bulgaria. Some thirty participants contributed to the two day event in which they had an opportunity to discuss on the international standards on asset recovery, Bulgarian legislation and its level of compliance with international standards, a comparison between the civil and criminal forfeiture of assets; the asset recovery process and its implementation in practice, including practical examples presented by the CoE experts.
