On 27-28 October 2016, a Working Group (WG) meeting on the draft Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest took place in Pristina with the support of the Joint EU/CoE Project against Economic Crime (PECK II). Following initial discussions in September 2016, the Council of Europe advised the WG led by the Ministry of Justice on the content of the draft Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest and its conformity with relevant international standards and good practice. Participants discussed comments provided by various domestic stakeholders during the ongoing consultation process as well as the findings and recommendations formulated in the legal opinion on the current draft Law prepared by the Council of Europe expert. The draft Law is expected to be finalised and submitted to the Assembly by the end of this year. The PECK II Project will continue supporting the Ministry of Justice to further improve the draft law in line with relevant international standards and good practice.
