[11/04/2013 10:00]  In the context of the ongoing reform of the Croatian Registries Act, the Commissioner has called on the Croatian authorities to take advantage of this occasion to clarify the legal framework governing the official recognition of trans persons' preferred gender. The Commissioner draws authorities' attention to the recommendations contained in his Office report "Discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity in Europe", stressing that "requirements for gender recognition should not be harmful for the health, dignity and family life of trans persons."
