Back Rulebook for the Notaries developed in co-operation with the Chamber of Notaries in Montenegro

Following the adoption of the new Code of Notary Ethics in December 2020, the joint European Union/Council of Europe action "Accountability and professionalism in the judicial system of Montenegro" provided support to the Chamber of Notaries of Montenegro in developing the Rulebook for the Ethical Commission of the Chamber.

The Rulebook regulates the working procedures of the Ethical Commission which was established by the Chamber with regards to the implementation of the new Code of Notary Ethics.

During the workshop, which was held in Podgorica, on 17 May 2021, members of the Chamber of Notaries prepared the final draft of the Rulebook, with the support of local Council of Europe consultants. The development of the Rulebook will allow the Commission to effectively assume its role in promoting the new Code and will increase the capacity of the Chamber to deal with ethical issues among its members, leading to strengthening the accountability of this legal profession.

The workshop was organised in co-operation with the Chamber of Notaries of Montenegro, under the action "Accountability and professionalism in the judicial system of Montenegro" which is part of the joint programme of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022".
