Some 50 judges, prosecutors and civil servants from Montenegro  benefited from a training on the application of the national and international legal standards for the protection of whistleblowers in both civil and criminal procedure.

This training was the first of this kind for representatives of judiciary and prosecution in Montenegro since the adoption of the National legal framework for the protection of whistleblowers in 2016. The training encompassed a presentation of the relevant national and international standards in the protection of whistleblowers, notably the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers Recommendation and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights. Furthermore the participants benefited from practical exercises based on real-life cases from Montenegro and Slovenia.

In the last session the participants had an opportunity to discuss the results of a public opinion survey on protection of whistleblowers, conducted by a local organisation, the Center for Development of NGOs.
