Montenegrin judges of first and second instance benefited from a training on “Ethics and prevention of conflict of interests” organized within Action against Economic Crime in Montenegro; The participants had the opportunity to learn about key international standards on ethics and to discuss about their implementation in practice, as well as discuss with a Council of Europe expert the interpretation of these standards in different circumstances. The training was used to also discuss the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.

The training encompassed significant number of practical exercises, reflecting everyday situations and integrity challenges. The practical exercises presented scenarios in which judges participating in the training had to decide, based on the knowledge acquired in the training and their previous experience, on their actions in different situations. The solutions to the exercises were then discussed within the group of participants aiming to evaluate the knowledge acquired and also the understanding of international good practices.
