Netherlands funds Council of Europe action plans and projects

The Government of the Netherlands has made a voluntary contribution of €771 267.84 to support the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia 2023-2026, the Council of Europe Action Plans for the Republic of Moldova 2021-2024 and 2025-2028, the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” 2023-2026, negotiations on an international instrument to establish a Claims Commission for Ukraine, co-operation with representatives of Belarusian democratic forces and civil society, human rights and equality for LGBTI persons, the Human Rights Moot Court Competition, as well as parliamentary action for social rights.

The Netherlands has also contributed €200 000 to the Human Rights Trust Fund*.
 
The agreement was signed on 27 November 2024 by Ambassador Tanja Gonggrijp, Permanent Representative of Netherlands to the Council of Europe, and Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General.
 

*The HRTF brings together eight contributors: Finland, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
