Training of Trainers for Legal Professionals

On 18-21 April 2023, second Training of Trainers (ToT) for a total of 45 legal professionals selected through a competitive process during the first ToT was held in December 2022. The aim of the ToT is to prepare a national pool of European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) trainers readily available to assist the training institutions and ensure the sustainability of the training efforts.

In addition to selected topics on the ECHR, the ToT focused on understanding behavioural insights related to social change and attitudes in application of the European human rights standards at domestic level. Substantive presentations, from traditional to more dynamic ones, including with recourse to the case-studies and different scenarios, were also delivered. In addition to substance, the participants were also exposed to different training methodologies and principles of adult education, familiarised with different important concepts in order to become successful trainers.

The event was organised within the Project “Enhancing Implementation of Human Rights Practices and Education in Georgia”.
