On 4th March 2025, the Council of Europe released a new study on the execution of judgements entitled “Good practice in human rights implementation: Multi-country study on domestic capacity for rapid execution of the judgments and decisions of the European Court of Human Rights[A1] ”.
The study is based on country specific analyses of good practices from 27 member states, which were covered by the study. First of its kind, the study looks at various practices in light of Recommendation CM/Rec(2008)2 of the Committee of Ministers, and aims to help member States strengthen their domestic capacity for the rapid execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. The data collection and further analysis were based on a common methodology, specifically developed for this exercise.
The study was prepared within the framework of the Project on “Support to efficient domestic capacity for the execution of ECtHR judgments (Phase 1)” which is implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by the Human Rights Trust Funds (HRTF).
