A dedicated session on Human Rights and Digital Business: Sustainable and Responsible Practices at the Digital Partnership Annual Workshop explored how human rights principles can be effectively integrated into digital business operations. It highlighted the importance of international frameworks such as the Council of Europe’s Recommendation CM/Rec(2016)3 on human rights and business and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, underscoring the essential role of human rights due diligence in responsible business conduct.
The session also explored the potential of digital human rights tracking tools to support companies in enhancing and streamlining their due diligence processes, reinforcing responsible and sustainable digital practices, by showcasing the Geneva Academy Human Rights Platform.
The Council of Europe Digital Partnership with technology companies and their associations was set up in 2017 to build together a digital future respectful for human rights, democracy and rule of law and currently includes 27 members.
