Deputy Secretary General Bjørn Berge exchanged views with WADA (World Antidoping Agency) President Witold Bańka at Palais de l’Europe.

The meeting focused on the partnership between the two institutions and on the common goal of reinforcing the fight against doping at global level.

Deputy Secretary General expressed his full support for WADA’s current governance reform, including the adoption of the Code of Ethics.

The co-operation between the two organisations to assist European States to adopt an anti-doping legislation compliant with European and international standards was also discussed.

The relevant work accomplished by several Council of Europe member states in this regard, was also mentioned.

Finally, Mr Berge highlighted the Council of Europe strategic priorities (2022-2025) for sport, with focus on human rights & sport.
