Indietro No Hate Speech Movement

Strasbourg City Council and several of its partner cities are involved in the Council of Europe’s No Hate Speech Movement. Since 2014, a local campaign has been running in Strasbourg, with the aim of combating racist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic speech, and rhetoric based on gender identity or inciting radicalisation. Such discourse very often has its roots in stereotypes. Training local stakeholders makes it possible to raise young people’s and local associations’ awareness of the way in which they can combat these stereotypes and promote alternative narratives.

The ‟Connexions” and ‟We can” manuals are particularly useful tools for players wishing to engage in this type of action. A participatory budget will be launched in Strasbourg to enable citizens to take ownership of this campaign and develop new projects.

This project is being implemented by Strasbourg City Council with the network of partner cities of the Club de Strasbourg.
