The Council of Europe, with the financial support of the German Government, kicked off a new cooperation project on Sustaining Public Administration Reform at Local Level in Albania. The project aims at reinforcing the multi-level governance and the harmonized implementation of human resource management and good democratic governance practices across the public administration. It will further contribute to strengthening the institutional framework and tools for the training and development of local officials and elected representatives.

Representatives of the key partner institutions, including the Ministry of Interior, Department of Public Administration, Albanian School of Public Administration, Agency for the Support of the Local Self Governance, Commissioner for the Oversight of Civil Service and Local Government Associations, who actively participated in the first Steering Committee of the project, reiterated their commitment to the project’s objectives, which are aligned to the main strategic documents pertaining to local governance in Albania and the EU integration agenda.
