Council of Europe supports Public Administration Week in Albania for the second consecutive year

On the occasion of the Public Administration Week in Albania, the Council of Europe co-organised, together with the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption, a roundtable with international partners and national actors on Public Administration Reform. The event offered a platform to exchange views on ongoing initiatives, institutional progress, and future priorities in building a modern, professional, and citizen-focused public administration.

The Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tirana, Giulia Re, underlined that investing in people is at the heart of public administration reform, noting that lasting change is not only about systems and strategies, but about empowering the individuals who serve within institutions to deliver effectively, with integrity and purpose.

The Council of Europe has been supporting Albania’s public administration reform for more than 15 years, including through the most recent project Supporting Public Administration Reform at Local Level in Albania, funded by the German Government, which concluded on 30 June 2025.

The Council of Europe remains committed to supporting Albania’s reform path, working to ensure that these contributions are solid, functional, and sustainable in the long run.
