During April and May 2026, the Council of Europe Programme Office in Skopje donated 15 computers and various office furniture, including desks and wardrobes, to the primary school “Braka Ramiz and Hamid” in Suto Orizari, reaffirming its commitment to promoting equal access to digital opportunities.
The donation aims to contribute to improved learning conditions and strengthen access to digital tools for students and school staff in one of the most socially and economically vulnerable communities in North Macedonia.
In today’s increasingly digital environment, access to information technology and adequate educational infrastructure plays a key role in ensuring equal opportunities for education, personal development and social inclusion. However, digital disparities continue to affect vulnerable groups disproportionately, limiting their opportunities to fully participate in education and wider social processes.
By supporting the school with IT equipment and furniture, the Council of Europe seeks to contribute to narrowing the digital divide. This initiative reflects the Council of Europe’s broader commitment to promoting social inclusion, equal opportunities and the protection of human rights, including the right to education.
The Council of Europe Programme Office in Skopje remains committed to working with national and local partners to support initiatives that promote human rights, social inclusion and equal opportunities for all.
