Back Anti-trafficking stakeholders from Bosnia and Herzegovina met with Serbian peers

To support the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina / State Anti-trafficking Coordinator in  mapping existing mechanisms for participation of survivors of human trafficking in policy designing and operational activities, the joint action of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina” organised a study visit in Belgrade, Serbia, from 13 to 14 December 2022.

A delegation of nine members composed of anti-trafficking coordinators, representatives of academy and civil society organisations, as well as one trafficking survivor from Bosnia and Herzegovina were welcomed by the Serbian NGO Atina. Atina shared their experience in terms of creating advocacy groups for the participation of women, human trafficking survivors. Moreover, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with members of such advocacy group and discus about their initiatives in Serbia.

Representatives of the Centre for victim’s protection and Ministry of Interior of Serbia and Legal Clinic of the Belgrade University also shared their views on strengthening the survivor’s participation in anti-trafficking policy making in Serbia.

The action „Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina“ is implemented under the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme „Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022“.
