Study visit to Irish Courts Service and European Court

On 3-7 October 2022 a delegation of representatives of Cypriot judiciary participated in a study visit to the Irish Court Service and the Registry of the ECtHR.

During the visit, the participants had the opportunity to gain an overview of the operation and working methods of both institutions and get acquainted with the different administrative and management processes available to support judges in their daily work. In the light of the expected establishment of the new Cypriot Court Service, the participants had a chance to exchange with other officials and staff members on the functioning, internal structures and organisation, governance and management procedures and learn about their respective experiences on various related questions. The collected information and best practices as well as challenges encountered will assist the Cypriot authorities in the setting up of the new Court Service.

The study visit was conducted in the framework of the EU-CoE Joint project on Enhancing the capacity of the justice system by an effective implementation of the reform recommendations and processes. The Project is co-funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument and implemented by the Council of Europe in cooperation with the European Commission and the office of the Director of Reform on behalf of the Supreme Court of Cyprus.
