The third two-day online training on legal reasoning and legal drafting in criminal cases with the consideration of the European Human Rights Court’s case law and decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is organised on 13 and 14 April 2021. The webinar has been designed to address the needs of judges and judicial assistants who, in the process of domestic adjudication, are required to refer to the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.

The duty of courts to give sufficient reasons for their decisions is enshrined in Article 6.1 of the European Convention of Human Rights - Right to a Fair Trial. Therefore, the training on reasoning of criminal judgements explores the obligations of domestic courts concerning the extent and content of the reasoning they provide when deciding domestic cases.

This activity is organised in cooperation with the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centres of Republika Srpska and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the project: “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Phase II” implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by the Kingdom of Norway.
