New Bureau elected during the 19th meeting of the Committee of the Parties to the Istanbul Convention

At its 19th meeting held on 11 December 2025, the Committee of the Parties elected its new Bureau composed of: Mr Vebjørn Heines, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Norway to the Council of Europe, as Chair, and Ms Berta Mrak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Slovenia to the Council of Europe, and Ms Rosa Velázquez Álvarez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Spain to the Council of Europe, as Vice-Chairs. Their term of office will start on 1 January 2026 and will end on 31 December 2026.

During the meeting, the Committee of the Parties adopted its recommendations under the baseline evaluation procedure for the United Kingdom. It also adopted its recommendations under the first thematic evaluation procedure entitled “Building trust by delivering support, protection and justice” for Andorra, Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Serbia.

As part of its baseline evaluation procedure, the Committee of the Parties adopted its conclusions on the implementation of recommendations in relation to Poland, showing progress in the implementation of the Committee’s recommendations at the end of a five-year process of follow-up.
