Recognition of Qualifications

During its 8th session, held in Paris at the end of June 2019, the Lisbon Recognition Convention Committee adopted the Revised Template for the Diploma Supplement, the new Guidelines for National Online Information Systems as well as the report on the Monitoring of the Implementation of Article VII of the Lisbon Recognition Convention, which addresses the recognition of refugees, qualifications.

The revised template for the Diploma Supplement is the result of the work done within the European Higher Education Area working group in 2017-2018. This new template replaces the previous one both within the Lisbon Recognition Convention and within the Europass. One of the objectives is that more and more higher education institutions use and provide the Diploma Supplement.

The report on the Monitoring of the Implementation of Article VII of the Lisbon Recognition Convention is the follow-up of the adoption of the subsidiary text on this subject in 2017. The aim is to support as much as possible the recognition of the qualifications held by refugees as one of the first and most important steps of their integration into the hosting societies. In 2019-2021, the Bureau of the Convention will continue its monitoring work on the whole Convention.
