Crime Victims’ Rights Week in Kosovo*: The Council of Europe supports the rights of victims of violence against women and domestic violence

The Council of Europe project on ‘’Reinforcing the fight against violence against women and domestic violence in Kosovo* (Phase II)’’ supported the International Conference on marking the ‘’Crime Victims’ Rights Week’’ that was organised under the patronage of the Prosecutors Office and Victims Advocacy and Assistance Office in Kosovo*.

Ms Merita Limani, the local Council of Europe project manager and Ms Bistra Netkova, expert on International Law and Human Rights presented the Council of Europe Human Rights Standards in cases of violence against women domestic violence and in particular, the Istanbul Convention. The audience exchanged as to how to enforce these rights locally and to improve the protection and support for victims of violence against women and domestic violence. The participants acknowledged the need to improve protection but also to ensure justice for the victims of domestic violence and violence against women.
