Back Examination of the cases concerning Ukraine

Examination of the cases concerning Ukraine

In light of the Committee of Ministers’ intention to gradually resume examination* of the cases concerning Ukraine whose execution is pending and was postponed following the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, in September 2022, the Department held several online meetings with the Government Agent's Office of Ukraine to discuss the preparation of the Order of Business for the DH meeting of the Committee of Ministers in December 2022, in particular, the Levchuk and Zelenchuk and Tsytsyura groups of cases. The Levchuk group mainly concerns the authorities’ failure to ensure that the applicants can enjoy their homes free from harassment and violent disturbance. The Zelenchuk and Tsytsyura group of cases concerns the long-lasting blanket ban on the sale of agricultural land, which extends beyond the sole interests of the applicants in the present case, affecting an exceptionally large number of persons.

* The Committee adopted the indicative list of cases proposed for examination at its next "Human Rights" meeting, which will take place from 6 to 8 December 2022 (1451st meeting).
