ECRI Working Group holds consultations with civil society organisations about anti-Muslim racism

The working group of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) on combating intolerance and discrimination against Muslims held an online informal exchange with civil society representatives on 9 September. The Working Group had an opportunity to get insightful feedback from some ten grass-root organisations and had a fruitful discussion on issues related to anti-Muslim racism.

This thematic working group is composed of the following ECRI members: Domenica Ghidei Biidu (Chair of the working group, member in respect of the Netherlands), Inês Ferreira Leite (Vice-Chair, member in respect of Portugal), Barbara John (member in respect of Germany), Elena Mihajlova Stratilati (member in respect of North Macedonia) and Kadri Ecved Tezcan (member in respect of Turkey). With a view to implementing its Roadmap to Effective Equality, ECRI set up this working group and tasked it with revising its General Policy Recommendation No. 5 on combating intolerance and discrimination against Muslims.
