A delegation of the Committee of Experts is visiting Romania this week from 6-10 February 2023 to evaluate progress made in the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages. The delegation is meeting with the representatives of the regional or minority languages speakers and the competent authorities in Cluj, Bucharest and Constanta. This is the third monitoring visit of the Committee to Romania. Following this visit, the Committee will draw up its evaluation report on the implementation of the Language Charter in Romania containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The report is expected to be published in 2023.
