The ENIC Bureau and the NARIC Advisory Board met on 5 March 2026 in a hybrid format at the Council of Europe headquarters in Strasbourg, bringing together representative of the Council of Europe, the European Commission and UNESCO to advance co-operation on the recognition of qualifications across Europea and beyond.
Participants exchanged updated on policy and programme developments shaping the work of the ENIC and NARIC Networks and reaffirmed the importance of transparent, fair and reliable recognition practices in supporting academic mobility, trust between education systems and access to learning opportunities.
Members reviewed progress in implementing the EB/NAB Workplan 2025–2027, focusing on strengthening the quality of the networks, fostering cooperation and dialogue among members, and improving the visibility and transparency of recognition practices. In this context, participants also discussed a programme of webinars to be organised as a series in the coming period, aimed at supporting knowledge exchange, professional learning and cooperation across the networks.
The Bureau and Advisory Board together with the Greek hosts also discussed preparations for the ENIC-NARIC Joint Annual Meeting 2026, which will be held in Athens (Greece) from 24 to 26 May including the keynote topic, draft agenda and workshops planning.
The meeting also included an exchange with the representative of the Council of Europe Steering Committee for New and Emerging Digital Technologies (CDNET) on developments in digital technologies and their implications for recognition policies and practices.
Participants also received brief updates from ELCORE and the Technical Support Team.
