Today, in the presence of Mr Jörg POLAKIEWICZ, Council of Europe Jurisconsult, the ambassador of Mauritius in France, his Excellency Vijayen VALAYDON, signed the Amending Protocol to the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and, at the same time, deposited the instrument of ratification.

Mauritius has been Party to Convention 108 since 1 October 2016 and became the 6th State to ratify modernised Convention 108.

The entry into force of Convention 108+ is crucial in the digital age and we therefore hope that many other ratifications will take place this year to enable the rapid entry into force of this modernised landmark instrument.
