Mr. Olivier CORTESI, project manager of the network, Mr. Olivier Kormann, representative of the commune of Rodemack, Mr. Guy THEWES, representative of the City of Luxembourg, Ms. Carolina Clark, Project Officer at the European Institute of Cultural Routes and other members from France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany also participated.

During the conference new members of the network were introduced and further steps to strenghten their network and intensify their international cooperation and activities were discussed.

The Cultural Route of the Fortified towns brings together twelve sites in France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg, which are typical of European military architecture in a region long regarded as Europe's battlefield. The fortified towns reveal an amazing architectural and cultural heritage with many fortresses, dating from all periods of the Middle Ages to the twentieth century.
