Support to the Anti-corruption strategy of Georgia (GEPAC)
GEPAC Project aimed at strengthening Georgian institutions' capacities in their anti-corruption efforts through the implementation of the Anti-corruption Strategy and Action Plan. Funded by a 700.000 € voluntary contribution of the Ministry for Development Co-operation of the Netherlands, GEPAC promoted technical co-operation among different law-enforcement and prevention services.
The project focused on five main areas:
- strengthening capacities of the anti-corruption policy institutions;
- co-ordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Anti-corruption plan;
- elaborating and improving primary and secondary legislation concerning criminalisation and prevention of corruption;
- strengthening the capacities of the Prosecution to investigate and prosecute high-level corruption;
- introducing pilot activities to enhance the integrity and institutional capacities as tools for prevention of corruption.
GEPAC Project was funded by a voluntary contribution of the Ministry for Development co-operation of the Netherlands
