Over 30 representatives of the Federal and Regional Business Ombudspersons Offices of the project’s 15 pilot regions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Norwegian Embassy in Moscow, as well as representatives of municipal authorities and business and lawyers’ associations took part in the 2nd workshop on “Potential models of confidential (anonymous) mechanism of reporting corruption by entrepreneurs” organised in the framework of the PRECOP II project. The workshop took place on 17 December 2018 in Moscow, in the Council of Europe Programme Office in the Russian Federation.
The Council of Europe experts presented and discussed with the participants several potential models of confidential reporting of corruption by entrepreneurs through Federal and Regional Business Ombudspersons in the Russian Federation or other partner institutions based on international standards and good practices.
The proposed models have been developed taking into account the results of the online survey conducted among business representatives and feedback received from project beneficiaries during the 1st workshop (Vladivostok, 8 October 2018). The participants took active part in discussions and exchanged opinions on potential of implementing various proposed models in the Russian Federation. It was agreed to carry out further consultations among Regional Business Ombudspersons through specifically designed online questionnaire to select the model(s) that in their opinion could work best and then pilot it in some regions.
