Finland Barnahus kicks off with its first Advisory Group meeting

On 25 November 2021, the kick-off meeting and the first Advisory Group meeting of the Council of Europe/European Union project “Ensuring child-friendly justice through the effective operation of the Barnahus-units in Finland” took place virtually within the framework of the broader national Steering Group quarterly meeting.

To avoid duplication, the project has adopted the existing Steering Group of the Finnish national Barnahus project, which was launched in 2019. The key stakeholders of the Advisory Group are the five Barnahus-units of the country, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, the Police, and the judiciary.

The meeting served to present the project outputs and the main findings of the inception report and various consultations with key stakeholders to the Advisory Group, as well as to discuss the Council of Europe’s project implementation dynamics.
