The Horizontal Facility Action “Accountability of the Judicial System”, jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe is pleased to announce that the publication “Opinions of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCPE)” addressed to State Prosecutors in Montenegro has seen the light of day.
The publication, presented at the seminar “Independence and accountability of state prosecutors – CoE standards and recommendations” held on 4-5 October 2018 in Petrovac (Montenegro), combines translations of twelve Opinions adopted so far by the CCPE as well as the Recommendation Rec (2000) 19 of the Committee of Ministers to member states on the Role of Public Prosecution in the Criminal Justice System.
The standards contained in the Opinions of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors aim at promoting the reputation and importance of the prosecutorial function in a democratic society and contribute to defining common principles governing the prosecutor’s offices in Council of Europe Member States.
