Opinion n°17 on the evaluation of judges’ work, the quality of justice and respect for judicial independence
The Committee of Ministers has entrusted the CCJE for 2014, having regard to Recommendation Rec(2010)12 on judges: independence, efficiency and responsibilities, with the preparation and adoption, in 2014, of an opinion for the attention of the Committee of Ministers on issues regarding the status of judges and the exercise of their functions. The draft opinion on evaluation of judges’ work, the quality of justice and respect for judicial independence has been submitted for adoption at the 15th plenary meeting of the CCJE, from 22 to 24 October 2014 in Strasbourg.
Working party
The working party in charge of drafting the opinion had 2 meetings in Strasbourg, from 17 to 19 March 2014 and from 23 to 26 June 2014 in Berlin (Germany).
