Conference "Democracy in Action" Learning & Teaching Resources in School Practices
Athens - 6 & 7 June 2019
Background
This conference will take stock of and contribute to giving further visibility to educational resources developed in the framework of Council of Europe’s education programmes and stimulate synergies to promote Democracy and Human Rights in the field of education. Different types of resources as well as inclusive approaches in educational practice shall be presented and highlighted in connection to the Democratic Schools Network as well as the implementation of the Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture.
The conference will also be the occasion to launch the new website Living Democracy which has been developed by Zurich University of Teacher Education in cooperation with the Council of Europe.
The event is organised in cooperation between the Council of Europe, Zurich University of Teacher Education and the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs of Greece which will be hosting the event. It has been made possible by a generous financial contribution by the Government of Switzerland (State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI).
