Consultations carried out on data collection and digitalisation of the mediation system in Azerbaijan

On 9 January 2024, the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) conducted a meeting via videoconference with the representatives of the Mediation Council, Ministry of Justice, and Academy of Justice to present the “Assessment report on data collection and digitalisation of the mediation system in Azerbaijan” and to discuss with the main national partners future activities to support the implementation of its key recommendations.

The report was prepared by CEPEJ experts following their mission to Azerbaijan in 2023. The document reflects the key findings and 22 recommendations for further development of data collection and digitalisation of the mediation system in Azerbaijan, in line with CEPEJ guidelines including the Baseline Grid for Mediation Key Performance Indicators.  The recommendations focus on improving the regulatory framework for mediation, enhancing monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and decision-making practices as well as related improvement of the digital infrastructure, promoting and expanding of on-line mediation services.

This activity was organised within the framework of the Project “Fostering mediation in Azerbaijan”, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance III (2023-2027).
