The 41st meeting of the Co-ordination Group between the Council of Europe and the OSCE was held in Vienna on 24 October 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Ambassador Vesa Häkkinen, Permanent Representative of Finland to the OSCE and Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council, and Ambassador Francesca Camilleri Vettiger, Permanent Representative of Malta to the Council of Europe and President of the Committee of Ministers’ Deputies.
The meeting focused on the state of co-operation in the areas of combating terrorism and trafficking in human beings, and underscored the importance of continued information exchange and collaboration between the two Organisations. For the first time, a side event on the fight against trafficking in human beings, open to OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation, was also organised, further enhancing the visibility of the partnership.
The Group will meet next in Strasbourg, in the first half of 2026, to examine co-operation in the areas of promoting tolerance and non-discrimination, and protecting the rights of persons belonging to national minorities.
