The exhibition on the cultural routes of the Council of Europe crossing France is currently presented at the Le Corbusier, at the Maison de la Culture de Firminy, upon invitation from the route Le Corbusier Destinations : Architectural Promenades. Structured around 35 roll-ups, it allows visitors to discover heritage sites, routes, and partners involved in the Council of Europe’s Cultural Routes program.
Entry is included as part of the visit to the Maison de la Culture: prices and opening hours can be found on the website. Firminy is located in the Loire department (42), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, 15 km from Saint-Etienne.
This exhibition has already been shown at several sites in France and will continue to travel, each year incorporating new routes certified by the Council of Europe.
The exhibition will be hosted at the Maison de l’Europe in Paris in autumn 2025. In February 2026, it will move to the Nausicaa National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer, coinciding with the 6th edition of the Regional Forum for Scientific Culture in Hauts-de-France, at the invitation of the European Route of Industrial Heritage. It will then continue to Le Quartz in Brest in March 2026, during the congress of the French Hiking Federation...
After its stop in Firminy, the exhibition will travel to Bougival in September, hosted by the Impressionisms Routes. In October, it will be presented in Deauville during the General Assembly of the Cluniac Sites in Europe. Finally, at the end of the year, it will be shown in the Aube to mark the concluding event of the European project HIKE4ALL, led by Via Francigena.
Spread across all regions, including those less frequently visited, these sites offer a different form of tourism, meaningful and value-driven, promoting soft mobility and showcasing local know-how in all countries of Europe.
Alongside the exhibition, numerous events will be organised by the cultural routes for professionals, civil society, and the general public. These activities aim to highlight the European dimension of heritage at the local level, showcase the values promoted by the Council of Europe, and demonstrate the vitality of these dynamic networks of multilateral cooperation.
