The Council of Europe organised together
with the Turkish Ministry of Justice a Conference on Probation and
Aftercare. The Conference was addressed to the Directors General of
Probation Services, or their representatives, in the Council of Europe
member and observer States, representatives of the European Commission
and the Secretary General of the European Union and of International
Governmental Organisations and Non Governmental Organisations active in
the penal field.
The aim of the Conference is to discuss
the role and place of probation in Europe and its future perspectives.
