Montenegro: visit of the Advisory
Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities
A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the
Protection of National Minorities will visit
Podgorica, Tuzi and Plav from 28 January - 1 February
2013 in the context of the monitoring of the
implementation of this convention.
This is the second visit of the Advisory Committee to Montenegro.
The Delegation will have meetings with the representatives of all relevant
ministries, public officials, NGOs, as well as national minority
organisations.
The Delegation includes Mr Grigor BADIRYAN, Advisory Committee member elected
in respect of Armenia, Ms. Aliona GROSSU, Advisory Committee member elected in
respect of Moldova, Mr. Einar NIEMI, Advisory Committee member elected
in respect of Norway, and Mr Krzysztof ZYMAN, Adminisrtrator, Secretariat of the Framework Convention for the Protection of
National Minorities.
Note: Montenegro submitted its second
State Report under the
Framework Convention in September 2012. Following its visit, the Advisory Committee
will adopt its own report (called Opinion), which will be sent to the government
for comments. The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe will then
adopt conclusions and recommendations in respect of
Montenegro.
