Today, in Strasbourg, Ms Ana Birchall, President of the Commission for European Affairs, Member of Parliament, Chamber of Deputies of Romania, deposited its instrument of ratification in respect of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (CETS No.210).

The Convention will enter into force, as regards Romania, on 1 September 2016.

At this date, 22 States have ratified the Convention (more). The Group of experts on action against violence against women and domestic violence (GREVIO) has initiated the evaluation of its implementation (more).
