The Council of Europe Unit on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is opening public consultations on the draft Council of Europe Disability Strategy 2017-2023.

These consultations target National Human Rights Institutions, Equality bodies and Ombudsman institutions, civil society and organisations of persons with disabilities as well as other regional and international organisations.

The draft has been prepared by the Task Force of the intergovernmental Ad Hoc Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CAHDPH-TF) and in cooperation and consultation with the relevant entities within the Council of Europe. Comments in English or French were expected until the 23 May 2016.
